Senator Susan Rubio's Statement on the Governor’s 2026 Budget Proposal

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senator Susan Rubio (D–Baldwin Park) issued the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposed 2026–27 State Budget:

“The Governor’s proposed $348.9 billion budget reflects a cautious and responsible approach during a time of economic uncertainty. I appreciate the administration’s focus on protecting core programs, maintaining approximately $23 billion in reserves, and prioritizing record investments in education.
