Senator Susan Rubio Celebrates Grand Opening of New Irwindale Public Library

IRWINDALE, CA — Senator Susan Rubio joined local leaders, families, and community members to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Irwindale Public Library.

Libraries serve an essential role in communities by providing children with safe spaces to learn and discover, giving students access to resources that help them succeed, and creating a welcoming place where families can connect and feel supported.

“For so many of our children and families, libraries become a second home, and the librarians and staff who welcome them through the doors become a second family,” said Senator Susan Rubio. “This new library represents an investment in Irwindale’s children, families, and future, and I am excited to see the opportunities it will provide for generations to come.”

Senator Rubio recognized Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio for securing $500,000 in state funding to support the new library and thanked Congresswoman Grace Napolitano for her longstanding commitment and service to the Irwindale community.

She also thanked the Irwindale City Council, librarians, library staff, and everyone whose work helped bring the project to completion.

The new Irwindale Public Library will provide residents with a modern community space dedicated to learning, literacy, educational resources, and connection.
