PASADENA, CA — Senator Susan Rubio was honored this weekend with the Courage in Leadership Award from Coalition PAC during its inaugural Fiona Ma Awards Gala in Pasadena.

Coalition PAC, a student-led political action committee with chapters across more than 250 college campuses, works to engage young people in the political process and advocate for working families, affordability, and safe communities.

“It is truly an honor to receive the Courage in Leadership Award from Coalition PAC,” said Senator Rubio. “As a survivor of deportation and domestic violence, standing before a new generation of young leaders who are committed to advocating for working families and strengthening our communities is incredibly meaningful. Their passion and commitment to public service gives me great hope for the future.”

Senator Rubio also thanked Coalition PAC President Nicolas Kiet Quach and the organization’s student leaders for their work empowering young people across California to become engaged civic leaders and advocates for their communities.

Coalition PAC has built one of the largest student-led networks in California focused on mobilizing young voters and elevating issues that matter most to working families.
