POMONA, CA –Senator Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) hosted her Annual Operation Gobble Turkey Giveaway from 9 am-12 pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024. 

The event took place at Ganesha High School, located in the City of Pomona. For the safety of our residents, drive-thru distribution was utilized. Constituents from across the 22nd Senate District lined up to receive a free turkey, groceries and educational information to help with their Thanksgiving dinner.

“During this holiday season, many individuals and families struggle to account for everyday expenses, care for loved ones, and provide for their families. This year, we were able to distribute turkeys and groceries to households in our community; with the help and support of our extraordinary partners,” said Senator Rubio. “It is important that we continue to provide resources that contribute towards the betterment of our residents, improve their quality of life, and combat food uncertainty in California.”

Senator Rubio partnered with God’s Pantry, NextEra Energy, Cal Broadband, AAA, San Gabriel Valley Water Company, Suburban Water Systems and of course Pomona Unified School District to organize this event. Many volunteers, organizations, and countless others donated their time and resources to support families in the area.  Senator Rubio was honored to bring our community together and spread the holiday magic.
