Senator Susan Rubio Statement on SCOTUS Opinion to Overturn Roe v. Wade

SACRAMENTO, CA – Senator Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) today released the following statement based on the draft U.S. Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade. 

“A woman’s right to have control over her own body is under assault. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s draft opinion undermines the progress toward reproductive freedom that women deserve. Despite the fact that for half a century, they have been assured of this constitutional right. If the Supreme Court continues on this destructive path, everything in our private life – including who we marry and our civil rights – will also be in jeopardy. We cannot go backwards. We cannot let this stand.”
