Senator Susan Rubio Applauds Appointment of Alex Padilla to U.S. Senate

SACRAMENTO, CA – Sen. Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) issued a statement today on Gov. Gavin Newsom's appointment of Alex Padilla to become the next  U.S. Senator from California. 

"Since California became a state 170 years ago, there has never been a Latino U.S. Senator. Today begins a new chapter. My friend Alex Padilla was appointed to the U.S. Senate by Gov. Newsom. This is an incredibly inspirational moment for me and the next generation of Latino leaders.
