Senator Susan Rubio Issues Statement Regarding Allegations Against Former Assemblymember Brough

SACRAMENTO, CA – Sen. Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) released a statement today regarding sexual assault allegations against former Assemblymember Bill Brough (R-Dana Point):

“I was shocked to hear of the horrific allegations. As a domestic violence survivor and advocate, I have always praised and supported victims speaking out and seeking justice. I know how personal and invasive going public can be. This type of behavior is wrong, and these allegations must be thoroughly investigated.

It is important that we send a strong message in the Legislature that we want everyone to feel safe and protected and that their claims will be taken seriously. I will continue to work with my colleagues to strengthen the rights of victims no matter who they are or where they work.”
