Senator Rubio’s Statement on Proposed Budget By Governor Newsom

SACRAMENTO - Sen. Susan Rubio today released the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s proposed budget: 

“I applaud Governor Newsom for proposing a budget that invests in some of my top priorities, including $84 billion in education funding, $1.4 billion to address the housing and homelessness crisis, and also providing some relief for small businesses. These are all critical investments that are needed throughout California, and especially in the San Gabriel Valley.

I look forward to working with him, along with my colleagues in the legislature, to work on the budget details in the coming months.”

Senate District 22 is comprised of San Gabriel Valley cities Alhambra, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Covina, El Monte, Industry, Irwindale, La Puente, Monterey Park, San Gabriel, Rosemead, South El Monte, Temple City and West Covina as well as the unincorporated communities of Avocado Heights, Charter Oak, Citrus, East Pasadena, East San Gabriel, Mayflower Village, North El Monte, South Monrovia Island, South San Gabriel, South San Jose Hills, Valinda, Vincent and West Puente Valley.
