You must now be 21 years of age to purchase tobacco in California. SBX2 7, authored by Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., was signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown on Wednesday. The law will become effective June 9, 2016, which is 90 days after the Legislature voted to end the Second Extraordinary Session pertaining to Health.
