On March 2, 2013, 7th-12th grade girls attending the Mountain View School District, El Monte City School District and the El Monte Union High School District will participate in "Inspire", a Young Women's Leadership Day.  The Young women from our community will have the opportunity to be inspired by local leaders who will share their secrets to success.  The keynote speaker is Dr. Maribel Garcia, Superintendent of the El Monte City School District.

Sacramento—Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law SB 1544, the Windstorm Tax Relief bill authored by Senator Dr. Ed Hernandez, O.D (D-West Covina). This bill provides tax relief to individuals and businesses who suffered damages as a result of last year’s windstorms.
